Priority Point Breakdown
Friar Points are calculated as follows:
The priority point system and ticketing
The Priority Point System is designed as a way for the Athletic Department to reward a donor's loyalty. The system awards a point for every dollar given annually to the Athletic Department and a half point for every dollar given annually to the College.
The points are then used to determine the order for season ticket upgrade request as well as the ability to obtain tickets to away games and tournament play, based upon availability. Any donor that attains the level of Champion's Club or higher will receive an application that will give them the option to purchase mini-plan packages and individual game tickets prior to their release the general public. While any donor that meets the requirements can order extra tickets, it is not always possible to get seats near their season tickets. A ticket agent will assign the best seats available based on the priority point system. The points are cumulative and valid for two fiscal years after which time everyone begins again.
Friar Points- Example 1
Cam Jannsen earned his bachelor's degree from Providence College in 2005. As a dedicated "Friar Fanatic" he gives $11,000 to the Field Hockey program and $200 to the Providence College Annual Fund. As a result of his generous donations he receives a total of 11,100 priority points.
($11,000 x 1= 11,000 and $200 x .5 = 100 so 11,000 + 100 = 11,100 points)
Friar Points- Example 2
Marin Shay earned her bachelor's degree from Providence College in 1978. As a dedicated alumni she gives $500 to the Friars Forever Fund and $2,000 to the Providence College Annual Fund. As a result of her generous donations she receives a total of 1,500 priority points.
($500 x 1 = 500 and $2,000 x .5 = 1,000 so 500 + 1,000 = 1,500 points)
AS A DONOR TO THE FRIARS FOREVER FUND
LOYALTY + GENEROSITY + FRIAR PRIDE = SUCCESS
