Providence College Head Coach Phil Seymore announced that Jonath Nicholas will join the women's basketball staff as an assistant coach on Wednesday, May 14. Men's Lacrosse Announces Team Awards Providence College men's lacrosse coach Chris Burdick announced the recipients of five major team awards given annually to members of the program. The awards were announced on Tuesday, May 6. Senior Colin Reposa (East Falmouth, Mass.) earned the Mark Brady Student Achievement Award. Senior Robert Lamontagne (Pittsford, N.Y.) was the recipient of the Tim Connelly Unsung Hero Award. Fellow senior Devin McBride (Marblehead, Mass.) earned the Steve O'Donnell Coach's Award. Name: Danette DoetzelSport: Track Class: Junior Hometown: Macklin, Saskatchewan Doetzel captured the women's 10,000 meter title in a time of 33:27.64 at the 2008 BIG EAST Outdoor Championship in Villanova, Pa. Doetzel is the fourth Friar all-time to capture the BIG EAST 10,000 meter championship, and the first since Kim Smith (2004). With her time of 33:27.64, Doetzel qualified for the NCAAs. ![]()
