Brent Swaby enters his first season on the sidelines for the Providence College men's lacrosse program, after a stand-out career with the Friars from 1998-2001. A 2001 Providence graduate, Swaby was a three-year starter in the defensive midfield during his playing days as a Friar. Voted the "Heart and Soul" captain by his coaches and teammates for his leadership and dedication, both on and off the field, Swaby led the Friars to an unprecedented 6-0 record at home in 2001, while also helping the Friars earn their first-ever Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play-off berth. In his first season as an assistant coach with the Friars, Swaby will work with the defensive units, focusing on short-stick defensive play. Swaby will assume a vast number of responsibilites in his first season such as, scouting, and day-to-day operations of the lacrosse program. A native of Feeport, N.Y., Swaby earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a concentration in Marketing, while at PC.
