Men's Lacrosse Loses in Overtime

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Holy Cross defeated Providence College, 15-14, in overtime on Wednesday, April 22 in men's lacrosse action at PC's Glay Field. Senior David DePaolo broke a 14-14 tie as he tallied his fourth goal of the contest and the game-winning tally in sudden death overtime to give the Crusaders the win.
PC led 12-9 entering the fourth quarter, but Holy Cross tallied five goals in the final 15 minutes, including the final two in regulation to force the overtime period.
Providence College was led on offense by sophomore Ken Leahy who registered a season high six points (five goals, one assist).
Brian Buckley recorded 13 stops in the win for Holy Cross. Providence netminder Rob Chambers made 18 saves for the Friars.
With the win Holy Cross raised its record to 5-8 while Providence fell to 4-8.
PC returns to action on Saturday, April 25 at the University of Hartford at 7:00 p.m.
