Villanova Defeats Providence in Double Overtime

VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Villanova defeated Providence College in double overtime, 1-0, in BIG EAST men's soccer action Friday, October 24 at Villanova, Pa.

Dave Francalangia scored the game-winning goal for the Wildcats at the 112:49 mark of the game.

Villanova goalkeeper Matt Westfall made seven saves in the win. PC's Dan Pires registered nine stops in the loss.

Villanova University improved its overall record to 6-4-4 and 4-2-3 in the BIG EAST, while Providence dropped to 3-12 overall and 1-8 in the BIG EAST.

Providence College returns to action on Sunday, October 26 against Rutgers at Piscataway, N.J. at 2:00 at Villanova, Pa.
