STORRS, Conn. - It was announced today that Providence College men's soccer senior standout Ryan Maduro (Bristol, R.I.) was named to the All-BIG EAST First Team. Maduro, who became the first Friar ever to be named to the All-BIG EAST First Team last season, earns the honor for the second consecutive season. In all, Maduro has earned three All-BIG EAST accolades as he was named to the third team in 2005. Maduro has played in all 18 games and is tied for the team lead with a career high five goals. In addition, he leads the team with six assists and 16 points. He has four game-winning goals, including three in BIG EAST Conference matches. Maduro is tied for second in the BIG EAST with four game-winning tallies. In BIG EAST Conference matches only, Maduro was in the top-10 in goals scored (4), assists (5) and points (13). Providence (9-7-2) awaits an NCAA Tournament bid which will be announced on Monday, November 19.
