Providence, R.I. - On day two of the Fourth Annual Friar Volleyball Classic, the Sacred Heart Pioneers picked up their second straight victory with a 3-0 sweep of Saint Francis. The Pioneers won the games by the scores of 30-19, 30-23, and 30-19. Freshman Mydori Saipale (Oxnard, Calif.) led all players with 13 kills. She also contributed 16 digs. Sacred Heart finished game one on a 10-2 run behind the stellar attacking of senior Christine Duffy (Massapequa, N.Y.) who finished the match with 10 kills, 11 digs and four aces. Freshman setter Courtney Kidd-Kadlubek (Santa Barbara, Calif.) had a match-high 24 assists and added three kills, four aces and eight digs. Junior Kendra Sloan (Bristow, Va.) had an impressive game with eight kills and a hitting percentage of .475. Junior Lynne Principio (Ardsley, N.Y.) tallied a match-high 19 digs. Senior Jadelyn Castillo (Bronx, N.Y.) led the way for the Terriers, finishing the match with eight kills and nine digs. Senior Sarah Bailey (Pasadena, Texas) had 20 assists for Saint Francis.
